The cage diving with the White Sharks is done near a town called Gansbaai, it is a few hours drive from Cape Town.

Sodwana does not have cage diving, every year the ragged tooth sharks (sand tigers I think you call them here) arrive there to breed and give birth, you dive freely with them.

A great shark spot is Protea Banks near Durban, this is where you get to see the big boys. I have seen Tigers, Zambezis (Bull), Raggies, Hammerheads and on a few occasions a Great White. All the diving there is also without any cages.

Sorry to hear the vis was bad for you at Sodwana, its the most popular dive site in SA and is normally pretty awesome, I have had some incredible dives there.

Shark nets are at the moment only along the KwaZulu Natal coast (Durban area). There are no nets in the Cape.
