First, let me say that a Titan LX is an excellent reg. Very reliable, and breathes far beyond its price. Of the 6 regs I currently own, the 2 Titan LX's are the last ones I would part with.

Let me ask: did the reg free flow when it was in your mouth, or only when you removed it? If it was only when you removed it, it is a normal occurrence with any highly tuned reg. Try to develop the habit of turning the mouthpiece downward when you remove the reg from your mouth. That will prevent freeflows.

If it is bubbling when in your mouth then probably the second stage soft seat has been engraved by the orifice (quite normal) and the adjustable orifice needs to be set, which is probably what your tech did.

There is no free lunch with any given reg. The more one detunes it, the less easily it breathes.
