Late Wednesday afternoon, the House of Representatives passed the Shark Conservation Act of 2008.
This legislation will improve existing laws that were originally intended to prevent shark finning and will allow the United States to continue being an international leader in shark conservation.
But we haven't crossed the finish line just yet…
The Shark Conservation Act of 2008 still needs to be passed in the Senate. Time is running out for this session of Congress, and we expect the Senate to vote on this issue soon. I hope I can count on your support when the time comes again to cross this final hurdle for a true shark finning ban.
Keep an eye out for an opportunity to take action soon and thanks again for being a part of our efforts to protect sharks.
Thank you!!!
