Yes, it is a case by case basis. I would go to a doctor that is versed in diving medicine and conditions. DAN-Divers Alert Network is a good place to start. I didn't find any articles directly dealing with tympanoplasty or Mastoidectomy except to say that you should wait at least 2 months to dive after tympanoplasty to ensure it's healed.
