Waterski gloves are usually stiched for curved fingers, which at the outset is fine, but as they age, the palms prefer their curled position, and they are harder to straighten out your hand in. But they are BOMBPROOF, especially if you will be clutching something a lot.
I use both them and a pair of nitrile garden gloves, depending on the situation.
