that's good advice and i'll be doing the same from now on ..
one thing though, there is still about 60 bars in each of our tanks..
empty all the bad air at the shop and then refill immediately
or is there some sorta special procedure?

I wouldn't even think twice about removing the valves for inspection. You need to know if was exhaust fumes or compressor oil. The compressor at my LDS had a check valve failure and pumped out all kinds of oil. We had filled six cylinders, back to back, before realizing it. Just about ruined a cert trip, plus it caused me several hours of cleaning the tank interiors and valves with simple green.
