Is a Real Tragedy to the children and their families and friends.

But, as far as causing anyone to not swim in a lake, as the article says, the problem is "exraordinarily rare". I suspect that far more people have been killed or injured going to and from the lake than have fallen to this disease. But, those don't make the news media.

Life has always been, is now and always will be a risky business. Another real tragedy is that information available to the public would rather play on general fear than give useful risk information. A safety guy was telling me last week that in the city where he works at least one person dies every work day in traffic collisions. But, other than the obituary section no mention is made of it except momentarily by the traffic helicopter.
