I have fished in "meat fish" tourneyments (grouper, mahi, Wahoo, Snapper,etc.). I do not have a problem with it, as long as the fish is not wasted. Hunting is a time honored practice. You should eat what you kill. I have heard that longfin mako is not very palatable (uric acid in the flesh). But you could bet that IF I chose to kill such a fish, I would be eating mako steaks for a long time.
