If you have not please complete your profile info, especially if you are new to the forum.

Many posters ask questions specific to gear, location and the type of diving they are doing. This is fine but the answer you get may come from a diver from a totally different location speaking to a different kind of diving. If you are used to cold fresh water diving you are looking for different answers than someone from a warm saltwater location will give you.

The United States covers a lot of area and diving, you will get better responses if you give better information. I promise we will not send you junk mail or call your house................

Thanks for the post! I know it's driven me crazy a time or two trying to figure out where someone was located! That little bit of info can make a world of difference!!

Oh I dunno... for example, I live in Arizona but do most of my diving in Carribean .
I just hope that when I post a question, people with that experience will answer, I haven't had any issues yet.
But this post did remind me to update my profile.

This was a good idea Devil Diver. I have looked at profiles when trying to determine more about the OP and the question being asked for a frame of reference.

It wasn't necessary. Just from your posts we had deduced that you were really the the little curly hair red headed girl who so badly intimidated Charlie Brown in the Peanuts comic strip.

Good point but this is not true of all. I believe you will find a lot of divers on the forum who dive different conditions, some could be North East or West Coast USA, Canada or lucky enough to live and dive in Australia or the South Pacific.

By default I consider diving to be warm blue water even though I will average 25-30 local dives (Texas mud holes) a year, so any questions with out locations and type of diving my answer would be based on warm blue water. This might not be the case so either 1) I look like an idiot (again) or 2) I would unintentionally give out bad information (again).
