Miscellaneous yoke apparatus
I recently bought two tanks from ST, and am looking to get a yoke onto which I can attach various hoses for the following:
Air up car tires Air up air mattresses Blow off tool bench Hook up a boat air horn (I like 'em loud!) Equalize two scuba tanks Here's my question: Can I use the item below to do all these? Or do I need a first stage to bring the pressure down to a more resonable level (40-50psi)? Any ideas or opinions are greatly appreciated. Tank to Tank Equalizer With Gauge, Accessories: Miscellaneous, IST, Tank to Tank Equalizer With Gauge

Generally you use a first stage to bring the pressure down. Then you get a little accessory that snaps onto the quick release on your BC or drysuit hose, and use that to fill your toys, tires, etc.
The transfill hose you linked is used to transfer gas from a higher-pressure cylinder to a lower pressure cylinder. |

You can get old, beat up 1st stages on eBay quite cheaply (considering you can get inexpensive new ones for ~$60). I wouldn't want to dive with them, but they should be fine as a dedicated fill accessory. Personally, though I'd rather just spend $20 on a cheap automotive compressor from Pep Boys than lug around a scuba tank just to fill toys and tires. |
