yup... obviously not as long lasting as the 8 C, but realistically, do you need 10 hours on the high beam??? its perfect size and instead of replacing 8 batteries because you are worried they are going to die, you only replace 4... or, if you are like me, you get rechargeables and not worry about it (and rechargeables will obviously be half the price with 4 instead of 8 to worry about)
