Hello-
Ok so obviously one is LED and the other one is not. How big of a difference is there. Is the LED really worth the extra $50?

My vote: yes.

Better battery life.

Better bulb durability (no filament to break)

More blue/white light, so better light penetration (red light is absorbed very quickly by water)

I have enjoyed my PT LED Shockwave....its a great hand held dive light.

I think that my Princeton LED was well worth the price. It is a big step up from the regular Shockwave.

A LED bulb could fail but the chance is very low compared to a "regular" bulb.

Go with the Miniwav LED same light output in a 4c design.

yup... obviously not as long lasting as the 8 C, but realistically, do you need 10 hours on the high beam??? its perfect size and instead of replacing 8 batteries because you are worried they are going to die, you only replace 4... or, if you are like me, you get rechargeables and not worry about it (and rechargeables will obviously be half the price with 4 instead of 8 to worry about)

Don't know, But I have 40 dives on the original set of batteries on my Shockwave II LED!
