Some people will say it damages the wetsuit to not use a $15 ultra thick hanger... I have yet to see that however.

I was going to do that exact same thing for upcoming trip to Bonaire (5 days to go, woohoo!!) since I heard people just tend to grab any hanger they want, regardless of the big flashing neon sign that says "This hanger belongs to..."

Good to know I'm not the only one trying to save a few bucks out there! Do you guys just dry the suit out on the hangers or do you actually store it there? If my suit is fully dry will it harm it if I fold it in half and keep it in my dive bag (which is in a cool dry place)?

I have seen people take a 3 foot long pvc pipe run a peice of rope thru it and hang that dry suit on that as a hanger.

![]() at first, i duct taped some "padding" around 2 walmart hangers. but that's when I stored my wetsuit on a hanger, that is. But now it's so easy after a dive trip, I just load all my gear onto my custom-built pvc rack, wash it all down, let it dry, leave the wetsuit hanging longer, then fold it and put it back in my gear bag. no damage yet ![]() |
