Additionally, the G5500C has the Tough Solar Power Technology which combines a super sensitive solar panel with a high capacity rechargeable battery to power high-load functions. The G5500C's auto light illuminates the display automatically when the watch is angled towards the face. The auto light features a power saving function so the switch only operates when available light is below a certain level.

I have a G-Shock and really like mine, It is not like these but... The one I have now is great, battery lasts indefinitely, But another Casio "Solar" watches and still had to replace the battery every year and that cost as much as a new G-shock like I have now, so I bought 3 of them, and put two of them away. (They were on clearance at wal-mart)
