I am looking for a new sausage (sexual innuendo's aside). What works well, is easy to use and stays out of the way until its ready to be used? All suggestions appreciated.

Well, at least they were not "sexual" innuendos. Which is a bad place to keep it out it out if the way. (In you end. "DOH")
Be more specific. Do you want a DSMB or surface safety sausage. If DSMB how do you think you want to inflate it? What kind of diving diving do you plan for?

Calabrese Sausage
Smoked with Applewood.
Popper Float Carter Floats CO2 or just 3 breaths. Multipurpose - lift bag, signalling device, spearfishing float. Pressure release. Pricey though. Last edited by cmburch : 08-03-2008 at 03:02 PM. |

DELAYED Surface Marker Buoy.
Inflated (partially) at depth and sent to the surface ahead of the diver, to identify the divers location, used for a "hang" for deco or safety stops or as a depth reference. Where I live we do primarily drift diving. Depending on location or conditions the marker is sent from depth to identify the diver's location for the boat. Sometimes a small one from the safety stop will suffice drifting for a 3 minute stop, but other times a larger one sent sooner the better.

ScubaToys-SF Search Engine Output Page At the bottom of the page: Signal Marker Buoy - Large Self Sealing The sausage I'm using now has a spring loaded, hard plastic bullet shaped inflater, and I don't like it. It's designed to foil attempts to inflate the sausage at depth. Absurd! I jury rigged the inflater by hot gluing a soft rubber mouthpiece onto the hard plastic, but will use the marker buoy described above in its place. |
