UK Primary flooded--now what?

Just like the title says, my UK pistol-grip primary light flooded during a deep dive this past weekend. It was two years old (sniff).

Now, should I look to fix this--or just get a newer, snazzier primary light?

...and, if I buy new, what light should it be?

Soliciting any and all opinions--but please be sure to explain why you hold that opinion.

Well which UK light was it? I went with the eled plus because it was the next best thing to the light cannon and I don't have to worry about bulb breakage. I've been pretty happy with it. I'll be up at CSSP this weekend and spending the night on the 18th so if you would like to get a night dive in and see it in action let me know.

Did you try flushing it with clean water and letting it dry? Sometimes, they come right back.

I'd say it's salvageable, unless you got flooded with salt water and didn't clean it up right away. If it was fresh clean it and, dry it out and redo the seals and you should be good to go.

If it's a wreck and you want a new one, the can lights are awesome. Go down deep at night and they'll turn it into daytime. They operate for a long time, rechargeable, easy to use and in general there's few things as bright as they are. I'd buy a 24 watt HID to get the better bulb. This is a primary light worth having.

Sunlight C8. I had bought the package at ST with a secondary and tank light.

Would love to dive CSSP this weekend, but the State of Texas has decreed that this is Tax-Free Weekend, which means that I'm trapped at work through at least next Monday. Blech.*

*In the Platypii Language, "Blech" has a multitude of meanings based on context. You have divined the correct one.

Always salvage it and trade it in for a newer model

ST does it again!

Those guys at the shop...

Brought in the flooded UK Sunlight and explained what I wanted to do, so what do you think they did?

They took back my two-year-old light and replaced it with a new one at no charge.

No muss, no fuss, no bother at all. Didn't even ask them to do that, since it wasn't even an option as far as I knew.

I'm SO glad to be associated with these people and have them as my shop.

I was under the impression that UK lights have a lifetime warranty?

Rechargeable battery upgrade kit with the newer reflector and bulb, which I was going to do anyway after attempting to salvage the C8.
