The Germans do know quality... Ever ride around in a Mercedes-Bens, BMW or Audi? Great cars, very nice, high quality... Ever see the maintenance costs of the German high quality car? <--- It's that bad if it's not on warranty... and most european cars have been know for crappy electrical. I'm just glad that the sham-wow is a simple towel with no complicated wiring.
I bought the "sham-wow" (not under that name) like 10-15 years ago... 2 rolls (many towels per row) and they lasted a long time, and are pretty good (they don't suck up liters of liquid at once, but do work)

There's luxury, and there's quality. No doubt the Germans have the former. But MB had been trashed soundly on quality for the last few years, and a lot of people won't keep their BMW/VW/MB for much longer than the warranty period. Japanese cars on the other hand...they may not feel as solid, but they're bulletproof in terms of reliability, and parts/maintenance tend to be much cheaper.

Lately Buick had been beating out the Japanese cars in terms of reliability. Unfortunately if you drive a Buick you instantly age 30 years.

ROFL.

I have read that Toyota's been slipping in quality due to the pace of their growth. In 10 years, maybe we'll all be singing the praises of Korean and Chinese cars, and Toyota/Honda will be getting bailouts from Tokyo.

I've been fighting the urge for quite some time to buy anything Vince is promoting. but I'll be on a trip soon where the wetsuit will be in the car with us for 9 hours, so I guess I need to do this

I thought I would revive this thread to mention that I found sham-wows at the Dollar Tree. That's right, the real product for only $1. I assume that Dollar Tree is a national chain.

They sell sham wows at costco! I may need to go get the real stuff for my wetsuit. I bought a imitation sham wow a few years ago. Either I'm using it wrong, or it doesn't work much better than a paper towel.
