Regularity is always a good thing, whether using your SMB or not. Sometimes my regularity isn't so regular, but I still use the SMB anyway. Intestinal bloating can cause some buoyancy issues though, so be careful. From my experience, if you eat at Taco Bell before diving, be prepared to dump a little extra air from your bladder before deploying the smb. (bladder meaning wing or BC) Just a little trick I've learned from experience.

Especially in the folds.

I inflate and hang after use. I don't fold until packing for a dive. (note: I don't roll my sausage, I fold it kind of like an accordian. )

Only rinse it with the rest of my gear and leave it rolled up. I've checked a couple of times for growth, but non so far.

Yup I have had my sausage for about 4 months. With a good amount of dives in between the other day i decided to open her up and wash it. No growth at all
So there ya go

Not just a matter of growth you can see. Like a BC, if you keep them rolled, the material can kind if stick together.

If you want to store them rolled, rinse, inflate, hang to dry then roll. Making sure that all water is out of the tube.

Yup you convinced me.

Take care of your gear. When you buy that used sausage from the guy who stores his wetsuit and BC in a bag and he pulls out his sausage and it "crackles" when he unrolls it......

Once every few weeks I take the overpressure valves out of my SMBs and hang them to let the inside dry out. Works so far. Also means I'm checking the valves for salt buildup.

Cheers
