Not really. If you want a crank, I would go with a reel. The finger spool has a lot of things going for it: It's pretty near unbreakable, no moving part-except the clip and easy to deploy. Winding it back up is a little harder than a spool, but then again, you can't get a backlash on a spool either. For an SMB alone, I would stay with a spool.
When you get into reels, you will find you will spend a lot more monay and then you want to get a good one that will stay secured to your belt, won't unwind when you don't want it to, won't bind or backlash.

you usually have to take line off a spool in order to fit the double ender in there I would get at least the 100 ft ones

I have a couple spools that are similar to those. I always keep one with ~100' in my pocket. I've got one with ~140' attached to my lift bag/smb, I keep another with ~75' in my gear bag in case I think I may need more than 100' or if someone else wants to borrow it. I've also got a reel but I only carry it for dives where I plan to use/need it. The spools I always keep with me and have used them quite often. (get the high vis line, easier to see)

I can't get the link to pull up, but unless you have a very specific purpose in mind why get anything less than 150/140ft? Price and size difference isn't all that great, but usability is much higher. Any current and that 100ft quickly runs out at 80/70/60ft. Even 150ft many times won't shoot to the surface for a diver that is in recreational limits.
