How do you dry out spools/reels?

My wife is still on my case about taking all my gear out of our spare bathroom from my dive last week. I told her I can't be bothered by such things. I'll pack it up for my next dive.

What I do when I want to respool all the line is get out my drill

I use my drill and a prety good size drill bit. I wrap a big piece of foam or sponge around the bit and then stuff it in the finger hole. Turn the drill on and guide the line where I want it to go. If the line starts getting crazy all you have to do it grab ahold of the line tightly and it will stop even while the drill is still spinning. Works great so that if the line gets tangled up with something it will not break the line or rip the drill out of your hand.

I rinse my spools with a hose while still wound up, then hang them to dry. I don't bother unwinding them.
