Beginners accessory kit?
So after bothering you all for days and days, I've finally decided and/or purchased all the main gear, fins, mask, snorkel, bc, reg, gauges, computer... What is the rest of the recommended gear? Light, knife, o-ring kit, etc? Just trying to get everything together as best as I can. Thanks once again all!

Recommended for what? For some dives, I'd definately recommend a knife and light. For other dives, I'd recommend a signal mirror and catch bag. Still others might call for a speargun and a decompression chamber. It's all about what you want to do underwater, but as a general rule, it would be a good idea to start out with a light, some sort of cutting tool like EMT shears or a knife, and a spare parts/ "save-a-dive" kit with o-rings, straps, tools, and so forth.

Extra O-Rings are always a good idea to have around. You would hate to loose out on a dive because of something so cheap and simple. A few tools I like to keep with me is a set of alan wrenches and (2) small adjustable wrenches. I have a small squirt bottle with Ear Beer (1/2 vinegar and 1/2 Alcohol), a few zip ties small and normal size, tylenol, small first air kit, extra mouth piece for a reg, and of course I keep Duct Tape in my truck. I have all kinds of extra little things in my Save a Dive kit, but that is the main stuff I can think of.
I would always have some sort of small cutting device on me. Either a little knife or shears. If I do not think I will need a Main light for a dive I like to always carry a little backup light to look under or into things. Ocean diving like you are doing I would probably carry a signal mirror and a SMB just incase. Talk to other local divers and see what they carry and see what fits your diving... Phil

When I dive in the ocean, the things I always have with me are: SMB, mirror, knife, shears, whistle, DiveAlert (on inflator), and light. Other stuff gets added depending on the dive...
I also have in my bag: spare o-rings, fin strap, mask strap, spare mouthpiece, extra computer battery. |

I'm a new diver, so I am currently in the "collecting accessories" mode. First "extra" I got for my wife and I was a Storm whistle. I also purchased a safety sausage, spool, and small BC mounted knife - all safety related items because I'd rather have too many things and not need them. I plan on next ordering a small "back up" light for looking into things underwater. We also carry extra mouthpieces, fin straps, computer battery, and multitool.
I found a slate to be useful too - I bought a wrist slate because I thought it was cool, and it actually got some use on a a couple of our dives

This one: Wrist Slate reviews and discounts, Trident
I picked up some shock cord and replaced the single velcro strap with the cord though. It has 1/8" holes on either side of the slot the velcro is in, so it is real easy to do. Perfect fit on the inside of my forearm above my computer.
