Metal Detector
Anyone have any experience with an underwater metal detector? Know of a good one? I hate to say it, but money is not really a factor. I've had experience with one, but in the harbors, it would keep going off and was more of a hinderance than anything. But I'm looking for one that will work well on a sandy beach as well as in the water (fresh water) for a beach cleanup job I have coming up. Probably need a professional model with power and versatility. Thanks!

If money is no object, then you probably want a JW Fisher UW detector. Pricey, but one of the best there are. Downside is that it is an all metal only detector. If you want to avoid lots ferrous materials like nails, iron, etc then you should look at the Minelab Excaliber or the Whites Beachhunter models.
If you have any specific questions, let me know. I've been using these for over 20 years now. Geez, I that number just keeps growing. I feel old.

Yep I use a Minelab unit when I am wasting up a half tank around the Jetties or down the beach you can naturally adjust the arm piece to run from elbow to hand grip or to extension for walking up and down the beach with the kids on a Sunday arvo.
