Just got 2 new "dive watches" - pictures

Just wanted to share some pics I just took of my 2 newest arrivals. Both are Automatic dive watches. The Seiko just arrived today, the Invicta is about a week old.

Invicta Pro Diver Automatic (Seiko automatic movement)

Seiko "Orange Monster" Automatic

Aaron, Silly question but does the Sieko glow in the dark on it's own or only after you have it in the light?

Very nice watches by the way

Thanks a lot.

The Seiko needs to be "charged" - I had played with it under a black light for a while, so it kind of looks like it is glowing in those pics.

Luminox watches have the gas tubes that glow at all times... don't need to be charged.

Tritium, a mildly radioactive gas, is what causes the material to glow without being under a light. (Visible, that is... it gets bathed in electrons you can't see!)

There are quite a few military watches and compasses (and gun sights) that use tritium vials for semi-permanent illumination, not just Luminox.

Very few dive watches use tritium... I can only recall seeing one off the top of my head.

Nice watches, though! I wish I had the wrists to pull of the orange monster, else I might have picked on up. I'd miss the depth functions on my Citizen, though.

Thanks guys!

Compudude: Luminox was just the one that popped into my head as a dive watch with tubes ... didn't mean to imply they were the only one
I know Ball makes a nice one, even comes with a toy submarine!

Just a quick size comparison for the "Orange Monster" next to a real orange monster!

Actually, the case is just about the same size as a Geo... The crown protector adds almost 10mm to it though!

And how many pounds of lead can you take off if you take it on a dive?
