Lost and found

Just wonder if you have lost anything while diving and found it again
I have lost my little diveknife while handling a fish and found it the next weekend.

I do it all the time. I dive many of the same places so much I am familiar with the topography so it is easy to go back the next time and get back what I lost. A couple of months ago I was digging out an artifact in gravel and I put my Citizen dive watch on a rock to keep it from getting scratched up. I forgot to get it when I left but did not worry about it. Where I dive no one else would dive there. I did not go back for two weeks but it was still sitting there ticking away. I think it thought we were doing some saturation diving.
What I like better is finding other folks lost stuff.

cool i would have been there the same day to find my watch, here it is a little bit the same as we don't have too many divers around so if you have a rough idea where you lost it its a good change to find it.

I was swimming along at a site that I'd dived about a week before. Sitting on the sand was a folding dive knife that looked just like mine. Hang on, it was mine!

The only thing I've lost so far is a band from a speargun - haven't found it yet...

The only useful things I've found are fishing weights, but you have to be careful not to tug when you snip them off.

(That was a joke, by the way - I don't steal tackle... )

Yeah, cause it may tug back.

Once lost an anchor in 60 ft 9 miles off Grand Bahama Island. We found it 2 days later after paying like $9,000,000 to replace it at the Jack Tar.

This was before GPS and we were not looking for it. Just diving.

LOL. How we lost it is another topic.

Mate of mine lost his computer (Oceanic Geo) and found it again 2 weeks later. It was half-buried in the silt at about 10m.

He would have recovered it too, but he didn't bring enough gas for the deco requirement it was showing.

Now That's a diver's joke. Admittedly was looking at the next post before I caught it.

But I've been drinking, so read that slowly and enunciate. Ok, can't really blame the drinking, just a little sloe.
