And I know that sounds like I'm joking... but really, I think that would be a good idea! Dual purpose!

The cd as a mirror idea is really good- except cds don't work all that well when compared to a signaling mirror. I agree they are better than nothing, but if you have the few extra bucks, I'd get a good mirror/SMB and some sort of audible device- DAN makes a SMB with alll of them combined- it's a really good set up.

It might seem like a CD is the way to go, but it's not. A mirror works much better. I've seen both in action and know from personal experience.

The thing is, A CD is something we all obviously have just laying around until we can go out and order the real deal.
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>You can buy the Star Flash signal mirror that the Military use for a small amount: http://www.bestglide.com/Star_Flash_Info.html</DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>But my idea is for something you can take now.</DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>The other part of it is you could receive your next ScubaToys product brochure ona business card shaped CD and carry that in your BCD.</DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>Even has a hole in the centre for sighting.</DIV>
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV>It has to be better to have something than nothing, and a freebie from a dive company that has a secondary use is practically eco friendly.</DIV>

Another cheap mirror option is to get the locker mirrors they sell during back to school. $2 and you can cut it in half to make 2. They're plastic and durable.

Speaking of mirrors, I own the signal mirror from ST and one side of it is red. Why is that? http://www.scubatoys.com/store/detai...DUCT_ID=Mirror

If you get the mirror, use a label maker to make labels that have your
emergency contact info and stick them on the back. Iclude allergies and
insurance info.

Just a thought.
