And I know that sounds like I'm joking... but really, I think that would be a good idea! Dual purpose!

<DIV>That really is a good idea. You carry ID on you (generally) everywhere else so why not when you dive?!</DIV>
I usually wear my RoadID which I got for cycling/running/and other middle of nowhere activities. RoadID.com -- I got the dog tag one.

I have read somewhere you can take a CD and attach it to the top of your saftey sausage and it increaes the chance of being seen at distance as well....

Actually, a CD is relatively ineffective as a signaling devise. Only 20-25% as effective as a small plastic signaling mirror.

An excellent article about what works for emergency signaling is

Go check out the Road ID that was mentioned above. This is a great idea especially for the info that it gives. They even have a dive flag for the dog tag.

Hmmm... If somebody wants an attention ( emergency equipment gear ). I know a place which you can buy a green laser pointer. Military type, oh boy this thing is visible in 10,000+ yards. It's even visible if you pointed it to the moon. I have one of these on my rifle and very satisfied with it's range and visibility. And I know you'll probably ask if it is underwater capable? YES it is!!! At optics and laser store nationwide it's around $150 to $250 but with the place that I know it's only $60.

Here it is... http://item.express.ebay.com/Sportin...mdZExpressItem
