Actually, a CD is relatively ineffective as a signaling devise. Only 20-25% as effective as a small plastic signaling mirror.
An excellent article about what works for emergency signaling is http://www.equipped.com/signal.htm |

Hmmm... If somebody wants an attention ( emergency equipment gear ). I know a place which you can buy a green laser pointer. Military type, oh boy this thing is visible in 10,000+ yards. It's even visible if you pointed it to the moon. I have one of these on my rifle and very satisfied with it's range and visibility. And I know you'll probably ask if it is underwater capable? YES it is!!! At optics and laser store nationwide it's around $150 to $250 but with the place that I know it's only $60.
Here it is... http://item.express.ebay.com/Sportin...mdZExpressItem

So, if it happen you see a 10 footer Tiger Shark. Don't worry it's only a guppy... Last edited by cyclone : 09-22-2007 at 01:18 AM. |
