Ikeep an old CD in my BC pocket as a backup signalling device in the event of being not seen.

That is a good idea. It's alot cheaper than those signaling mirrors, and probably works pretty good, too.

The whole CD idea is pretty good... I know they make pretty good prismatic mirrors. What might be a good idea for guys, is to put their personal info on the CD - address, scan of passport, medical info, emergency contact info, etc. Then you have a great backup of data... and if the mirror doesn't signal someone in time... at least they'll know where to ship the body!

And I know that sounds like I'm joking... but really, I think that would be a good idea! Dual purpose!

Oh of coz don't forget the CD will also make a good frisbie for some social gathering to overcome the stress, and a nice cyber-looking coaster for the hot chocolate after you got rescued[img]smileys/smiley20.gif[/img]
