I prefer analog k.i.s.s. the fewer things to go wrong the better. I dive with a computer but if that fails I want something simple and easy to read. For the hundred dollar area I'd go for a Seiko orange monster.

The orange monster is a great watch without the big price tag. I currently have one strapped to my wrist. However, I just picked up a Citizen Aqualand that gives ascent rate, depth, max depth, H2o temp, etc. and was thinking I may have to retire the Orange Monster from diving. Not sure, as I really like the feel and style of the Orange Monster. Would it be too uber-geeky to use both the Aqualand and the Orange Monster to backup a primary dive computer?

Analog, easier to read underwater and the bezel is easier to adjust with gloves on.

I've always liked the analog watches better.
