You shouldn't put a price limit on pure enjoyment.

In that case, why not up the ante to an open minisub?

CompuDude,
Do you have or have you used one of these?
What do you think?
I was reading about a group of divers using scooters at Pt. Lobos.
Would it make a 225lb diver look like GWS bait?

I don't own one, but I've used them. There are a bunch of people around here that have them. There's a big crew up in MoCal that uses them also... probably the group you saw.

I'd drool over them more, but I ran out...

I got a set of cash for my birthday yesterday, and i did some reading and research. The Long Island Sound, which is closer to me than the Atlantic as i live on the North Shore, is pretty shallow at about 64ft deep average. Trinidad and Tobago waters are much deeper, but i'll rarely go there. I figure a 100ft DPV should be sufficient for 90% of my diving needs. I'm opening a thread on Scubaboards, but i have been searching and i found a few DPV's in my current budget

X-155 Sea Scooter By X-Treme
I like this one the best. Yes/No?

I had no idea there was a DIY scooter...scratch everything, time to go to a drawing board!
For a few hundred bucks more you could get one of these: Sea Doo Explorer Diver Propulsion Vehicle by Seadoo

It's that few hundred bucks that i don't have....plus...if i can build one myself, i can add more fun options.

Now when THIS comes to market....SPACE SYSTEMS - Space Plane is a seascooter new type. Let's enjoy scuba diving. | Products
