Inflator Shut Off Adapter

Has anyone tried these: Inflator Shut Off Adapter, Accessories: Miscellaneous, Innovative Scuba Concepts, Inflator Shut Off Adapter

I have used a similar thing in paintball and they were a royal pain to operate when pressurized. Has anyone tried one?

If they operate as advertised these would be a good back-up in case of a stuck inflator......it does introduce another failure point but I think it would be worth it.

Totally unnecessary - how do people keep coming up with these silly gadgets to separate you and your money? - if your power inflater gets stuck open simply disconnect it. It's a quick release fitting so you could do that as fast if not faster than turn this little knob.

I'd rate that right up with the hard hat that will protect you from falling stars.

I am total new to diving but if your inflator suddenly jammed open wouldn't you just pull the quick connect?

If you have been practicing that. Also give you the chance to practice the harder tast of reattaching it under pressure.

If you haven't been drilling your awareness and response, that shutoff thingie won't do you any good, either.

I really like Hose Hats makes it really easy to remove the quick release.
They even come in pink for you fashion conscious divers.... Pink Hose Hats
TDL also carries them.
Simple and cheap.

I guess I have no real objection to the hose hats but I still don't see the need. I find my LP hose easy to disconnect as it is.
