New Flag/Float
Anyone use one of these?
Dive Flags and Floats I was thinking aboutgetting one of those with my Gift Cert and wanted to know how well it worked. It looks more visable than the small flag we use now and I kind of like the idea of being able to light it for a night dive. Any Pros or Cons? Thanks.

Thanks-I was thinking of throwing a lot of different colored glow sticks or a couple of flashlights inside for when we night dive near a campground. I'm hoping it will look a little odd at first before people realize what it is.

I prefer the basic dive flag since it is low drag. The wind and current can be a real drag (pun intended). I replaced the standard red & white nylon flag with a hi-vis flourecent orange and white vinyl flag. On night dives I attach a xenon strobe. I find this works much better than the glow sticks and meager led blinkers that others use. I also added reflective tape to the bouy. I have not yet tested how much this helps on night dives.
Good luck with your decision.

I have this model and I really like it. Just make sure it is tied off well if you don't tow it with you, the wind will push the float loose. I do like being able to put a light in it at night to illuminate the dive flag. It is also nice to put accessories in it when the dive is over.
