The first time I used them, I had to climb up a boat ladder, in 2' - 3' swells. They paid for themselves, right then and there.

I'll be adding some spring straps and XXL Jetfins when I get my dry suit.

Good call.

Learn to love the frog kick, as well, if you haven't already. Jets are phenomenal frog kick fins, but murderous for flutter kicking, unless you happen to be an Olympic athlete.

I've been trying to find some spring straps to fit on my Cressi-Sub Rondines, but without success.

Manta's website claims to have a set for the Rondines, but a phone call confirmed that they don't really. Grrrrrrr.

Anyone know of any?

After spending a solid 10 minutes bouncing around during a night dive while another diver tried to get her fin straps off, I was even more happy to have spring straps. Just snap them off the heel and one over each arm, and up I go. I have the OMS Slipstreams with OMS springs, and my dad retrofitted his Mares Quattro fins with apollo c-series fin straps. They make diving off boats so much better, in and out of the water in no time. Makes me wonder why I put up with my dacor black tiger with abs buckles for so long.

Oh, and when the sand gets in those buckles you are SOL. With the spring straps you just wash it off, way better if you dive on sandy beaches.

Agree- So much easier to put my fins on. Especially in the water.

After switching to spring straps, I can't imagine, other than cost, why all fins don't just come with them to begin with. They make things so much easier, especially getting back on a dive boat in rolling waves.
