Yes.

I'm not aware of any models on the market that are any different from the cheap EMT shears. The only difference among them is the type of sheath they include.

Personally, I don't use a sheath. Double ender bolt snap clips it in my pocket, and I use a 2" piece of vinyl tube to keep the scissors shut. Works beautifully, takes up less room than any other solution, and keeps things safe but accessible.

Good tip. I have a Zeagle holster with the shears and funny little knife but have had some trouble accessing them with gloves. Vinyl tubing seems like a good solution with a snap for security. Thanks

I used a little length of thin bungee to tie the vinyl tube to the handle. Easily cut out the way if I need to, but keeps me from dropping it when deploying.

1/2" ID x 5/8" OD seems to be a perfect fit for standard size trauma shears. They only sell it by the 1/2 foot at my local OSH, so I bought enough for three... for about a dollar, IIRC.

Don't forget to take it out of the tube when you let it dry after rinsing, however. No worse than a nylon case, but shears still rust fairly easily so no sense making it easier for the rust.

I have one of the combo knife and shears and i think they are quite useful. I tend to use it every dive.

May I ask what you are using it on?
