It would depend on your instructor. I would suggest contacting and asking what the course entails.

I'm not NAUI advanced and it's definitely been a few years since my AOW (i.e. 25 years) but the book work will most likely get a little more indepth into dive planning, navigation and additional skills update. PADI then does 5 dives which are primers for advanced diving such as Deep, Nav, Night and others.

Fire Diver has it pretty much pegged, talk to your instructor, get the book and read.

Finished my NAUI AOW not long ago. The test can be done as part of a pre-dive briefing where you and your instructor discuss topics and specifics about the next dive. It's all up to your instructor. My test was written..if you have read the book you should do great. Good luck.

I read through the book for NAUI AOW but there wasn't any traditional classroom. Just the dives looks like master diver chains you to the chair quite a bit though well find out next.

Mine was fairly easy too, just learning a new set of skills, had the basics and a good number of dives first though.
