Actually PADI does not require a new photo to sent in each PIC...they can use a previous photo...it just has to be referenced...I did that several times in the past.

Wow...paying for cards. Put Another Dollar In.

I got most of my certs from ScubaToys, a NAUI shop. Never had to pay extra for my NAUI OW, AOW, Rescue, First Responder, and O2/AED cards. My PADI Nitrox and PPB cards were included; these were not from ScubaToys.

Rick, some PADI shops/instructors include the cost of the cert card in the course fee, as do I. Others don't. Some will tell you $99 for the class, then start adding pool fees, materials, pic cost etc and before you know it your up to what others tell you on the front end. My course fees are understood up front, before the student decides to take a class. Unless there is a major problem, there will be no other fees. Now, if a student does not complete the course requirements and extra pool time, lake time are required, adjustments would need to be made at that point. But not all shops operate that way.

On the subject of the photo, I take all my students photos and send them in with the pic card.
