Question re: Geo and Manta

I've been looking at both the Oceanic Geo and the Aeris Manta wrist computers as backup units. Can anyone help with advice regarding the functionality and reliability of these two units? I do want the Nitrox-compatibility they both offer, but as the description of the Geo is somewhat sparse, I'm trying to discern why there is a $100 price difference between the two. I do realize that the Geo is marked down on scubatoys, but am wondering why the price disparity. Can anyone who owns either of these help shed some light on the subject? Thanks

I am almost sure that they both have the same internals.

Yup... same animal. We just have last years colors in the Geo at a discount... but if you want to pay the extra $100 for those colors... we'll take it!

Thanks for the responses. Does last year's model only come with the blue or yellow bezel ring? No black?

I have the blue Geo and I love it! I think it did come in black or maybe gray last year...

I've logged about 20 dives on the Aeris Manta and I have no complaints. Its got nice big numbers and does everything I need. Great for the price. I have yet to try the download capabilities though. Overall I'm pleased with the functions and ease of use. Let me know if you have any specific questions on the Manta.

The dark gray, black - are still current colors - so they didn't have a pile of those sitting around that they wanted to sell off at a discount. They only had a surplus of the blues and yellows. We can sell you a new grey one... but it's a few bucks more.

Just give us a shout and we'll get you set up.

Dumb question, but does the Geo track and measure surface intervals?
