I have been reading about Southwest Florida diving lately and wondering what any of you think is the best amongst these dive sites for early March: Spiegel Grove, Duane or shore diving Lauderdale by the sea. Other suggestions welcome:smiley25:

I'm interested too. Gotta make a trip down there in a month or so. What's most highly regarded this time of year?

Spiegel Grove is a must for me. I'm going to go fly down one weekend, stay with a dive buddy and him and I are going to hit it a few times. Gotta get the shirt. ;)

WPB, Boyton and Jupiter also offer great diving.
The Spiegel Grove and the Duane are must do dives, IMHO.
By the way, these are all in Southeast Florida.

the SP is pretty sweet, and real close to both the Duane and Bibb. But the Hydro Atlantc is a real nice dive. She may be a little deeper than the other but worth the training.:smiley2:

Oops! Yes it is Southeast Florida thanks Capt Hook. I do want to do SG and yes get the shirt too. Maybe shore dive at Ft. Lauderdale (no rush, minimum driving I hope)
How about Rodeo25, thats pretty cool too eh?

Lotsa stuff of FTL to see. Keys are a bit out of the way, but arguably better diving. I agree, go for the Grove...

You can do both-
Duane one day followed by reef
then
SG on the next dive.

My wife's first wreck dive was to the Duane, and she's been hooked on wrecks ever since.

You can also do both on the same day. Give Silent World dive center in Key Largo a call and tell them you want to dive both the Duane & Grove on the same trip and they should be able to accomodate you. I know it can be done b/c I have done it a few times.
