I am a student in UC Berkeley doing research on the complaint system of UPS (concerning lost and/or damaged packages.)

If anyone could answer the following questions (through their expertise), or let me know where I can find the information, I would really appreciate it!!!

How many complaints does UPS get every year concerning damaged/lost packages?
How many claims do they pay out?
How many go to court?
How many are settled before court? For how much (on average)?

Most likely, there is nobody here who can answer those questions accurately. To find out you're going to need to contact UPS for the answers you seek.

Official sources and all.

In case you didn't notice this is a scuba diving discussion board, and all the threads in this forum are specific complaints about dive shops, gear sellers, or other things at least vaguely diving related. It's not really the right place.

And sorry about posting here, I didn't realize that this was only for scuba complaints.

ok, 99%. sheesh. My point, as I'm sure you actually realize, is that the OP saw something labeled complaints (actually probably googled "UPS complaints") and wound up in a place that wasn't quite what they thought it was - excuse me for pointing that out. It's a place people complain, not a resource to do research on complaints. And the occasional complaints that aren't somehow diving related, are by folks who are otherwise on the board and want to whine to their buddies here about something. (Ok, now you can go find a non-diving complaint posted by someone who has no other posts here and pick on me for that...)

Our soldiers are fighting to give the OP the right to ask a question in this forum. Oh, wait, that's right, they tried to run the Marines out of Berkeley. Guess they didn't have much luck. Semper Fi...

Is it just me, or does this seem to be someone looking for answers to their thesis by spamming the boards that pop up in their Giggle search?

Free Speach here is not all inclusive. Read the TOS. just the fact that there is a TOS is indicitive of it not being all inclusive. But then again, its officially a privately owned and payed for board. We can either follow the board rules or leave.

Now I'm not supporting censorship and I don't think they do that here, unless it's blatent that it's material not suiting for viewing.

DING DING DING!!!! We have a Winner!

I have no idea why the original poster went to the effort to sign up to ask a UPS question on a scuba forum. It's like asking a Windows Tech Support question in a cookign forum.

It's obvious SPAM.
