Got to say the wrecks. Spiegle is an awesome dive. It's just so huge. When you dive there you will probably see both wreck and reef. I'll be there in 11 days. Tic-Toc.

sweet deal there.
so much good stuff to see.

some of the boats out there will do a wreck in the 1st dive, and then reef for dive 2....

Lots of cattle boat operations down there so be aware of that!

Go as soon as you can, there was just a new research that lot of reef is dieing out there, which I can say is true, I was there in March of this year and the reef looked paler than last year.
With what Dive Operation are you diving?

Ohh forgot… you can also do Winch Hole, Christmas Tree as well, yea there is Jesus Statue and also a Buddha Statue and I am sure your Dive captain would tell you stories about Buddha statue, where you need to rub for luck………….lol

Just side note, after your dives, you can visit alligator farm and they are pretty fun, also I believe its close to mile marker 90 or 99 there is a place where you can go feed tarpon that is fun, its more fun if you have bunch of college kids holding out the feed and leeting tarpon bite them……….lol

I like the Duane better the the Spiegle down there. There alway seems to be other boats diving the Spiegle when I have been there but when I did the Duane it was just our boat.

Our schedule in 1 week will be the Eagle, double dip on the Spiegel and the Duane. 4 dives on the wrecks and 6 on the reefs.

This will be my first dives on the Eagle and Duane. I can't wait to see them.

What Dive Op are you using?

Conch Republic Divers out of Tavenier.

Gary and Brenda are great.

Note also that most of the ops that deal with the Duane and the Speigel require an AOW cert. I have heard of a few finagles proving that you have experience at those depths with just OW, but the magic appears to happens with AOW. The doors just open up with that card. I kind of get it, but don't at the same time. I would take an experienced OW diver any day of the week over an AOW diver who just had his ticket puched. But that's just my crazy talk.

Long story short - unless you have AOW, check with the op first. This will help you avoid any disappointment.

I reccomend Silent World, they were very nice, however there is no head on the boat and it can be a long ride back if you are like me and can not seem to pee in your wetsuit.
