Two questions: Where are you going to get a full fill at? Most LDS that I am aware of can fill to 3500 psi. Is the 190 cu ft at 4350 or 4785 (the orig hydro is "+"

I've seen European tanks that are over 200 cu/ft. Pretty n uts.

That tank is pretty much useless for scuba diving. Its buoyancy characteristics makes steel doubles look like styrofoam. Its -47lbs empty and -63lbs full.

Can a normal reg handle 4400 psi?

Only if you have the "zero stage regulator" to attach your first stage to. :smilie39:

Really the only use that I see for that monster is to top off other tanks that you may have. And yes, getting a full fill would be a challenge I would think...

Well, 300 bar is around 4351psi so I'd say yep. Most new regs are capable of 300bar service pressure.

I can't imagine diving that tank under normal diving configurations. The weighting problems could be insane.

Good point, but would you want to lug that thing around? That would make all but the biggest dive boat list unless secured amidship. :D

double those up and you only need to carry 130lbs of weight to hold you down. you can spread that out on 4 or 5 weight belts...

Actually, its they are 130lbs negative not positive so you now have a use for the 150lb lift bag you wanted...........

Doubled up...to be used only on those walk in from the shore and only on a dive that you: 1) plan on staying on the bottom and 2) the bottom contour will allow you to place them on a tow behind cart note silt out shouldbe planned for. And folks were giving me a bit of grief about thinking of doubling up LP 121s...:D

On the other hand, if someone was wanting to do a vintage dive in a Mark I brass helmet....:smilie39:

I want one, just to say I have a HP 190 and see the looks I get from people. I would love to lug that thing into my LDS and ask for a fill... If I had money to blow on something silly I would buy it just for fun...

If you going that far - just get a K bottle from a gas supplier. Its around 242cft at 2400psi.

I knew a couple cave divers who needed a lot of o2 so they rigged one up with 4 octo's on 7ft hoses and 2 BC's for buoyancy and swam one in 100ft to a cave.

woops. i read about the + rating someone mentioned, then the buoyancy of it, and mixed the plus and minus up.

My LDS had one of those, they used it for what it was meant for, according to them it's a hang tank. Not a diving tank. And it is one heavy MF that will make you cry when it's your turn to place it.
