I have two steel 80s, 2640 + psi, with 8/04 Hydro, VIPd in January, with boot. I think they are Worthingtons with round bottoms.
How much is a fair price to sell. I have too many tanks and need to sell some.

Not worth much, send them to me! You pay shipping:smilie39:
I've seen ~$75-$100 for tanks in current Hydro.
Lots of tanks? The law of supply and demand comes into play here, you have an ample supply. Demand.......?
Good luck.

80's aren't in as much demand, but I'd bet they're worth more than $100 to somebody. Not me, but somebody might like it.

In general with any type of small equipment, whether sound gear, scuba gear or motorcycle accessories; look up the current new price and expect to only get about half if you find a buyer. Since you can get new 80s for about $150; $75 sounds about right for used.

Am I missing something here ?
Where can you get new Steel tanks for $150.00 ?
A new steel LP 80 goes for about $225.00 .
My guess would be that they ae worth in the range of $125.00 to $150.00 if sold on E-bay. I 've sold Al80's on E-bay last month for $100.00 ea, and a steel HP120 for $250.00, so don't sell cheap.

I think RussP is mistaking these for Al80 tanks. Even then, you still see them offered and sold for $100-125 or more regardless of age/vis/hydro. Not that I'd consider that a "fair" deal, but apparently it's what the market will bear.

Yeah, my bad. Aluminum goes for $150 new, steels about $275-$300 so used steels should be about $125-150.

russp,
Its a nice thing being 51 yrs old, we can admit when we are wrong.
I know because I'm wrong every time I open my mouth at home.

Side note Scuba.com sells lp80's for $215.00

Jim,
If this is the only thing I'm wrong about this week, it will be a real good week.
