I'm trying to come up with a name for a boat. I would like the name to be dive related. any suggestions? Thanks!

Flounder Pounder :smiley20:

Local dive charter nearly named their new boat that... felt it was "inappropriate".

"Nitrogen Loaded"
"Surface Interval"

Im grasping...

(I don't think "Narc'd" would be a good idea.)

Yeah! And I'm sure Larry will sponsor it if you put his and Joe's face in a prominent position on the stern.

I have to observe an object (quirks, kinks, problems, size of the boat) before picking out a name. Can you post a picture and describe how the boat handles on the water? Any certain charateristics that make it stand out from the rest of the boats on the water ?? You want a name that's unique to your boat and you. I can't remember the amount of boat's I've seen named "ocean breeze" or "tidal wave". Or you can just go with the suggestions that have already been mentioned, but if you choose one of the suggestions, you might have to pay a "royalty" fee (LOL) !!

If we're going to dabble into Buffett-inspired things then "Mermaid in the Night" comes to mind

No Misses

It is common for boat names to have a double meaning.

I spear fish and I am single, thus my boat name is "No Misses". If I was going to add any graphics, it would be a spear passing through a wedding ring.

Wet Dream
or
Wannagetwet
or
Calypso, Jr.

(friends in Calif named their boat: Popeye Maru)

How about:

"Unsinkable"

"For Sale"

"Turn me Over" <-Painted Upside Down

or, name it after Peter Griffin's boat:
USS More Powerful than Batman, Superman, Spiderman, and the Incredible Hulk Combined"

Or: for a serious name, "Music" in reference to that Crosby, Stills, and Nash song, "The Southern Cross."

Since you seem to like Grateful Dead references, how about "Goin' Down the Rode (http://www.nauticaldecorstore.com/NT1.htm#R)"?

'fra-munda" with an arrow pointing down.....

"TANKED"

name of my boat is "Sea-Y-Oh!" i wouldn't have picked, but I thought changing the name was bad luck....

why not Narc'd

Think about what non-divers would assume about the word "narc". Might get them some unwanted attention.

If the top rolls up or peels back like the boat in the picture then how about, "Open Minded" or "Open to Suggestion".

Best I ever saw was a 35-40' boat named Change Order. The tender was about 6' in length called Original Contract.
