For those of you who are brave (foolish) and intrepid (desperate) enough to dive Haigh quarry this time of year here’s an update:

Water Temp at 0’ = 42
Water Temp at 85’ = 39

Visibility is spotty, ranging from 10 to 15 feet down to 35’. Up to 20’ vis as you go deeper. No themorcline I could find. It was uniformly frigid!

My dive buddy had a 7mm farmer-john. He survived, but his fingers were too cold to unbuckle his own fin straps! A few people were out there diving wet.

Sounds like nearly perfect temperatures for diving, at least in a drysuit. I've been dry too long now to ever dive those temps wet again.

It really was a great dive. We even had most of the quarry to ourselves. I did try to be nice and play it down a bit to my buddy who was standing next to me shivering. lol
