Well here it is, a joke

First-year students at Texas A&M's Vet School were receiving their first anatomy class, with a real dead cow. They all gathered around the surgery table with the body covered with a white sheet. The professor started the class by telling them, "In Vet Medicine it is necessary to have two important qualities as a doctor: The first is that you not be disgusted by anything involving the animal body.
For an example, the Professor pulled back the sheet, stuck his finger in the butt of the dead cow, withdrew it and stuck it in his mouth. "Go ahead and do the same thing," he told his students.
The students freaked out, hesitated for several minutes but eventually took turns sticking a finger in the anal opening of the dead cow and sucking on it. When everyone finished, the Professor looked at them and told them, "The second most important quality is observation. I stuck in my middle finger and sucked on my index finger. Now learn to pay attention.

We met at Bainbridge at our usual time, and set up in Upper A (amidst a rather large open water class) and some other odd groups of divers. We talked about what our plan would be; Descend from the steep access, make sure my sinus’ are ok, then if all is well, drop down to the boat, find the Pennsy, and go over to the CAT, if all is still well pop over the ridge and see if we could see the deep boat or the stairs. Then come back around and hit the wall, go over to the Lagoon, and finish up in there. Well, we hit all of our marks, and when it was time to pop over the wall, we ended up “beaching” ourselves on the road since the water levels appear to be a bit down (my best guess is about 3-4 feet looking at the far wall of the quarry) So we ended our dive on the road, a little shorter than we wanted, but it was a great dive nonetheless. The visibility on this dive was pretty good throughout, but very good at the deeper depths (OW classes kicking up the shallow areas no doubt) I’d almost venture a guess that it was in the 20-30 foot range down past the CAT (then it looked a bit darker down in the abyss)

Nice and appropriate! I was cutting and pasting parts of my dive report for our LDS's weekly email newsletter....phew...it could have been a dirty joke that would have made Larry blush!

I just heard about this- I heard that he was driving down the highway smoking a crack pipe???? odd...what would lead someone to do this?
Yesterday, some turd was chased by a couple of our county deputies. After a short chase, he stopped in the middle of the freeway, pulled out a handgun, and killed himself. I was driving by as they draped the tarp over the windshield of the red SUV.

On the first day of school, the children brought gifts
for their teacher.
The florist's son brought the teacher a bouquet of flowers.
The candy-store owner's daughter gave the teacher a pretty box of
candy.

Then the liquor-store owner's son brought up a big, heavy box.
The teacher lifted it up and noticed that it was leaking a little bit.
She touched a drop of the liquid with her finger and tasted it.
Is it wine?" she guessed.

No," the boy replied. She tasted another drop and asked,
Champagne?

No," said the little boy. "It's a puppy."

Nephilim is often translated as “giants”, a legitimate and appropriate interpretation, but one which may be only partially accurate. A better definition might be “those who came down”, “those who descended”, or “those who were cast down.” The Anunnaki of ancient Sumerian texts is similarly defined as “those who from heaven to earth came”. Sitchin [1], Gardner [2], and Bramley [3] have all identified the Nephilim as the Anunnaki, more specifically, essentially the rank and file.

Virtually all open-minded historical and theological scholars agree the Old Testament’s book of Genesis was extracted from the older Sumerian records, if only because of the similarity in their Comparative Religions. The Enuma Elish, the Sumerian Epic of Creation, and Genesis have a variety of common elements. Stories of a Great Flood and Deluge, among other stories, are also common to both Sumerian and Biblical accounts. An inevitable conclusion is that the Anunnaki were as real as Noah, Moses or Abraham.

How weird... I was also working on a C++ program for interfacing DSL Modems. Just don't forget that the comparator 18 determines and controls when the switches 20 and 27 switch the line driver amplifier 20 between power supplies by comparing an input signal 12 to be amplified with a predetermined threshold value 17. If, for example, the amplitude of the transmitted signal 12 is determined to exceed a predetermined threshold 17 and amplifier 20 needs a higher power supply voltage to support it, the line driver 20 is responsively and discretely switched to the higher supplies (+/-VCCH) by switches 22 and 24. Conversely, the comparator 18 discretely returns the line driver 20 to the lower supplies (+/-VCCL) when the signal 12 determined by comparator 18 to be is less than the threshold 17.

(Yea... right :smiley11:)

OK, these might be dumb questions but here they come.

1. Do hose protectors really work. Do they really help a hose last longer or if you treat your gear properly are they not really needed ?

2. What's the easiest way to get the darn things on ???

I recently bought a used computer that I plan to have as a back up. It came with a scubapro hose protector that was separate. For the life of me I can't seem to run the hose all the way through it. I used a little soap as a lubricant and that helped a little but I still haven't manages to get the hose completely through. Is there some trick to this ???

1. Yes - extra protection from kinking where the most pressure is being placed on the hose.

2. Boil the hose protectors pull them out of the water and put on while they are hot and soft.

I was replying to a post on another thread and it was taking a long time to post so I copied it just in case it timed out so I wouldn't have to retype it.

C++

?? No kidding? What are you working on DSL modems for? I thought you owned a dive shop.

I work on DSL modems for a living.......

FOLDER C: SECRET FACILITY CLEARANCE

If available at the time of offer submission, Offerors shall submit documentation showing that a
secret facility clearance, as granted by the Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office
(DISCO), has been active for the offeror’s facility(s) sometime within the previous three years
(three years from solicitation closing date). The facility clearance does not have to be active at
time of proposal submission. GSA will not sponsor Offerors for DISCO Security Clearances.
The Government considers this requirement a definitive responsibility matter, i.e., Offerors must
submit proof of these credentials before contract award. This proof shall be made available to
the Government after the deadline for receipt of offers within five (5) working days of the
Government’s request for it. Failure to submit that information within five (5) working days will
be deemed a material nonconformity and result in rejection of your offer. Offerors are advised to
have that information at the ready so it is available when the Government requests it.

Why did the chicken cross the road?
DR. PHIL :
The problem we have here is that this chicken won't realize that he must first deal with the problem on 'THIS' side of the road before it goes after the problem on the 'OTHER SIDE' of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he's acting by not taking on his 'CURRENT' problems before adding 'NEW' problems.
OPRAH :
Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens.
GEORGE W. BUSH :
We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road, or not. The chicken is either against us, or for us. There is no middle ground here.
COLIN POWELL :
Now to the left of the screen, you can clearly see the satellite image of the chicken crossing the road...
ANDERSON COOPER - CNN:
We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of the road.
JOHN KERRY :
Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the chicken's intentions. I am not for it now, and will remain against it.
NANCY GRACE :
That chicken crossed the road because he's GUILTY! You can see it in his eyes and the way he walks.
PAT BUCHANAN :
To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.
MARTHA STEWART :
No one called me to warn me which way that chicken was going. I had a standing order at the Farmer's Market to sell my eggs when the price dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information.
DR SEUSS :
Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I've not been told.
ERNEST HEMINGWAY :
To die in the rain. Alone.
JERRY FALWELL :
Because the chicken was gay! Can't you people see the plain truth?' That's why they call it the 'other side.' Yes, my friends, that chicken is gay. And if you eat that chicken, you will become gay too. I say we boycott all chickens until we sort out this abomination that the liberal media white washes with seemingly harmless phrases like 'the other side. That chicken should not be crossing the road. It's as plain and as simple as that.
GRANDPA :
In my day we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.
BARBARA WALTERS :
Isn't that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heart warming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting, and went on to accomplish its life long dream of crossing the road.
JOHN LENNON :
Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together, in peace.
ARISTOTLE :
It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.
BILL GATES :
I have just released eChicken2007, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your check book. Internet Explorer is an integral part of eChicken This new platform is much more stable and will never cra...#@&&^(C% ........ reboot.
ALBERT EINSTEIN :
Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?
BILL CLINTON :
I did not cross the road with THAT chicken. What is your definition of chicken?
AL GORE :
I invented the chicken!
COLONEL SANDERS :
Did I miss one?
DICK CHENEY :
Where's my gun?
AL SHARPTON :
Why are all the chickens white? We need some black chickens.

Haha! I remember copying that to send to my wife!

Decided to do this again. This is for tracking a package of mine that Fedex keeps bouncing between Houston and Dallas. Four calls to Fedex and it's always "we're sorry, it's been misrouted. We guarantee delivery tomorrow."

I've heard it all before.

"Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow creeps in this petty pace from day to day..."

It's for a critical pool pump relay that is hard to find. My pool is now green. Thank you Fedex.

Just trying to figure out where Atlantic, IA was, so that the next time I go and visit the in-law's I could swing by a quarry there and do a couple of dives...

The National Hurricane Center in Miami said Gustav hit around 9:30 a.m. near Cocodrie (pronounced ko-ko-DREE), a low-lying community in Louisiana's Cajun country 72 miles southwest of New Orleans, as a Category 2 storm on a scale of 1 to 5. The storm weakened to a Category 1 later in the afternoon. Forecasters feared the storm would arrive as a devastating Category 4.

Not interesting I know, but ohh well.

JABBERWOCKY

Lewis Carroll

(from Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, 1872)
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

InfoQ: Writing a Comprehensive Unit Test (http://www.infoq.com/articles/Comprehensive-Unit-Test)

I don't think this guy knows what he is talking about. So don't use the information in the above link. And Bennerman, what if Chinacat's post is asking, "Does 9 - 5 + 5 x 0 + 3 = ....?" If the answer to the left side of the equation is 7 and there are 4 dots the answer could be taken as NO. If someone state, "Let .... equal 7." before the equation then the answer would be YES. You could get philosophical and think about how someone from a different planet would view this. They'd have no concept of our language, numbering system, math, etc.

Some people see the world quite differently. ;)

A redneck was stopped by a game warden in Central Texas recently with two ice chests full of fish. He was leavin' a cove well-known for its fishing.

The game warden asked the man, 'Do you have a license to catch those fish?'
'Naw, sir', replied the redneck. 'I ain't got none of them there licenses. You must understand, these here are my pet fish.'

'Pet fish?'

'Yeah. Every night, I take these here fish down to the lake and let 'em swim 'round for awhile. Then, when I whistle, they jump right back into these here ice chests and I take 'em home.'

'That's a bunch of hooey! Fish can't do that.'

The redneck looked at the warden for a moment and then said, 'It's the truth Mr. Government Man. I'll show ya. It really works.'

'O. K.', said the warden. 'I've got to see this!'

The redneck poured the fish into the lake and stood and waited.

After several minutes, the warden says, 'Well?'

'Well, what?', says the redneck.

The warden says, 'When are you going to call them back?'

'Call who back?'

'The FISH', replied the warden!

'What fish?', replied the redneck.

Moral of the story: We may not be as smart as some city slickers, but we ain't as dumb as some government employees.

You can say what you want about the South, but you never hear of anyone retiring and moving north.
