Nice. I've heard the 430 is about as close to perfect as a car can get.

That's a pretty nice looking car. I just don't understand owning something like that in the states with our speed restrictions.

When I used to have a fast car it was more the knowledge that I could beat anything out there. Same went for a crotch rocket. You'd see who could out accelerate or out maneuver the other, and sometimes you'd just race.

While my car back then wouldn't hit the speeds of these new cars, it was fun, then. I wouldn't do now the things I did then, too much water under this particular bridge.

I definitely do miss having a motorcycle. It was only 600cc and wasn't sport tuned, but it was still a totally different experience than the Honda Fit (aka: the jelly bean) I have now.

Lots of race tracks to take that thing on. If you can afford it, I doubt speeding tickets are going to set you back at all. :smiley36:

That was my question just now to my husband.
Where EXACTLY in the US would you use 510 hp on an average high way?
Secondly is it even street legal?
A friend of ours just bought the BMW M3 and is about to move to Hawaii.
Yep that was my thought too. Dumb just dumb. Yes it is a beautiful car but he will kill the engine in 2 years or less. It is meant for autobahn high speeds.

Ferrari is cute I like it. I would drive it if you gave it to me. Ok no I wouldn't I would trade it off for a Hummer. I am not a cute car kind of gal. I like the rough tough Coco Puff vehicles. And like my husband says he would rather see a chick get out of a Jeep with a lift on it, in a dress and heals than a car like the Ferrari.

I can't speak for other countries but in the US they have no problems with being legal, no limit on HP. As long as it passes the requirements set by the gov (crash testing, emissions, lights, seat belts, horn, etc..) you can drive pretty much anything.

510 hp isn't even a lot... my little 4 banger Talon dyno'd right at 500 wheel horsepower (which is more like 575 crank hp, which is what the Ferrari is measured in)... Although I no longer have that car, a good friend of mine has a Talon right this second that he drives daily that makes 505 wheel horsepower on regular pump gas, again, 4 cylinder car, only 2.4 liters displacement - it also gets 30 mpg when he drives it nice...

Now, on top of that, the Corvette Z06 makes 505 hp stock, the Viper, 550 HP, Ford GT - 550 HP, and Chevy will soon be releasing a 600+ hp Vette and Camaro both...

it's not about top speed, its about how fast it goes from 0-60, or from 20-80, or whatnot...

I bet that thing turns like its on rails. I know most people like the straight track, but I like the chikanes. Nice car.

I know that if I had a car with 500 HP+ on tap I could not afford the tires that I would burn off, But the smile factor would be great:smiley36:

You may not get to drive this to its full capacity on the street, but they have a races series just for guys who own ferraris so they can take their toys out and test them against the other guys toys. My husband calls it go kart for rich guys.

That is one hell of a ride! My cousin used to, back in the early 90's, import and sell "exotic" cars.I got to ride in some humdingers thats for sure. I will say that the only car that made me cry (I was young at the the time)from fear was a Ferrari! Have fun and don't kill your self or others.

Just out of curiosity how much led do you need to make that thing nuturally buoyant? How is the UW gas millage?

cheers,

Brian D.
