Thanks everyone. I finally had a chance to work on a few images in Lightroom this weekend - everything I had posted from the trip earlier was from Picasa; not exactly a high powered editing program. First time using Lightroom as my workflow tool - I am pretty happy with it.

Not sure yet. Thinking about trying Fiji this fall - a little easier to get to from the states than Indo or PNG (direct flight from LA). I also have a friend that lives in OZ (Exmouth - Ningaloo area) that I need to visit some day - but that is a pretty long trip from the states also.

I think I am going with a group from the ST forum to the flower gardens (closest reef to Texas - in the gulf) in August; probably my next trip.

How was your trip to the Coral Sea? Also on my list for someday.......

Fiji is only 3 hour flight away from Australia:smiley2:

Coral sea was great. The weather wasnt the best as we had 15-25knot winds for most of the trip. We did do the run out to the Coral Sea to Osprey Reef and did a couple of nights out there. I didnt see any Hammerheads or Mantas on my trip but found out they were all out and about on the next trip after mine. The Spirit of Freedom is a beauitful boat and the crew are great bunch and very professional. Actually a friend of mine is looking at doing a private charter of the whole boat next year. It should be great as we have complete run of the whole boat which means we have no schedule, so we can stay were the diving is great i.e Coral Sea.

I won a prize at a local underwater film festival. The prize is the land content and diving for week in PNG. I was going over there in November for a week but now I am going to go over for a total of 3 weeks. Madang in the North and Lissenung Island near Kavieng for 2 weeks. It should be an interesting trip and I am already organising bigger hard drives for the laptop and external to hand the amount of photos I will be taking over there. Maybe even looking at getting a Nikon D300 for the trip and have the D80 as a spare.

I should do a trip report for the coral sea as it is an excellent trip and guess you folks in the states would like to hear how us in the other side of the world dive.
