that looks rad. I always wondered, how long do you have to stay out of the water after getting a tattoo? (if you have to at all)

I like it! Simple, yet it has detail to it.

I have been trying to decide what ocean/scuba themed tat I will get. It can't be my next one though. I already made a promise to myself what my next tat was going to be. Scuba will have to be #3.

I like it!!!

With the wavy flag like that, when you get old and wrinkled it'll still look just as good as the day you got it!

I understand the water. Why no sun???

The Sun will fad the ink really bad in the begining and can ruin the tatoo.

I have always thought about getting one-but always managed to talk myself out of doing it. I guess if I found a design that was perfect it would make the decision easier...so far still nothing.

in the same boat here - been fairly close a couple of times - especially in college, but never could seem to find something that I wanted to have on my body forever

this OP's is nice, just not for me

Just don't get tattoos!

I have the same problem. When I look back over the (far too many) years and see pictures of how my "really cool" looks were in hair styles and clothing and now look look just old and funny, I can't imagine doing any of it permanently.
Maybe I've gained experience that informs my decisions, but in the end, they are just mine.
Not preaching, just thinking out loud.

Your Avatar would make a nice start. I say start, because tattoos can be as addictive as crack.

Sun bleaches the ink and as the skin is already healing it can get badly burned.

Hit up google and I have a link to some I will find for you.

I love the tat buddy kind of what I want. Though everyone told me 4 weeks before hitting the water. I am going to wait till we finish our AOW dives in sept and then the local diving should be done then I will get my first.

If you don't like tats, why are you reading a thread about them? I can't understand the need of people who don't want to get innked to run down people who do.

It was actually an attempt at humor, if you look at my personal info you will see why. I was for several years doing tattoo myself in my own small parlor.

You need to learn how to convey humor across a forum text. There was nothing in your thread to inflect joking. People shouldn't have to read the life story of a poster to decide if they might be kidding in what they wrote.

Perhaps your correct, I don't seem to accel in a two dimensional world. I'd like to say it's been fun but it really hasn't.
