Yeah... that's a big part of what I enjoy about it. ;)

I also like Limerick in GAA hurling, but I don't often get an opportunity to watch a match. It's an awesome sport though... check it out (first thing in the morning at a local Irish bar with satellite TV) if you get a chance.

Born and raised 2 miles from where I live, just south of Boston. I have done a lot of travelling though, and have a lot of friends from other places. Frankly, I think there are much more interesting sports out there than what Americans are typically used to.

Rugby's great, but it's another one that I usually have to pay a $40 cover to watch at a bar at 7am, so I only catch the important matches and follow the team's progress on-line. I'm okay with that though... watching sports on tv has never been a big priority for me. I'd rather be active than watch others being active.

I've never seen hurling in the olympics... maybe you're thinking of curling? Curling is the one where they slide stones across the ice with brooms. Hurling (Hurling - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurling)) is the contact sport played with "hurleys" that are like a cross between field hockey sticks and cricket bats. Smash the ball (sliotar) through the (football style) uprights for a point, or below the bar and past the goalkeeper for three. Great endurance sport, with serious potential for broken bones.

Thor rooting for the Giants... that's some irony right there. Mjolnir must be collecting dust these days. :)

Speaking of the olympics though, last time rugby was an olympic event (1924), USA took the gold. So... even though it now mostly a "rest of the world" sport, we can always cling to that for bragging rights.

I like watching a lot of sports, but I can't get interested enough to figure out their schedules and actually watch the number of games they play... can't build my life around TV.
