There are not a lot to choose from but Into the Blue is probably up there. I wish they would make The Last Dive into a movie.

Basically, it is a 2005 remake of "The Deep". I would have enjoyed it without Jessica Alba. BTW, from the women I know who have seen it, Paul Walker is some nice eye candy from their point of view. :smiley36:

Into the Blue is one of my favorite movies right now. I am a huge Jessica Alba fan, but thats not the only reason. It has a good story, some suspense/drama, a love story, drug lords, murder. But the reason I really like it is the diving scenes. It is filmed on location in the Bahamas, so you have crystal blue waters, white sandy ocean floor, reef sharks, rays, and colorful tropical fish. The music is good too. Everytime I watch the movie, I want to go diving.

I recommend it to anyone who likes diving tropical waters (which should be all of us).

Like was already said, it was a remake of The Deep. Personally, I like the story line of The Deep better, but the underwater cinematography of Into the Blue was really great. That movie made me want to start free diving.

The whole movie was a big advertising campaign. If I remember correctly, they kept changing up the gear throughout the different scenes. Advertising dollars at work!

that had to be one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

Even someone who doesn't dive would agree.

it was poorly written, poorly directed, shot and edited.
even worse... it was BORING as hell.

Isn't Open Water the one with the stranded divers? I didn't see it because I heard it was boring, and how it ended. With this in mind, how can they make a 2?

DivingsInMyBlood

yes it is with the stranded divers, but it just makes you happy your not in their flippers in open water going through what they had to deal with.

I don't know. I prefer The Deep.

Actually, my favorite is The Abyss. I liked the story line.

I just bought the gold edition of The Abyss at Shopko, and finished it last night. 28 extra minutes of film. Haven't watched the extended version yet, as I wanted to first refresh myself on the regular film.

I agree--The Last Dive would be a AWESOME movie. Or how about Shadow Divers? That would be kinda fun too. It might also attract mainstream folk--a nice suspense story combined with history and some diving action.

They could put some piranhas in there and really spice up the action too.

I personally loved "The Cave".

here is the synopsis from IMDB....
A group of cave-divers and scientists explore a newly found cave system in Romania. However, rockfall blocks the exit and after delving further into the cave, the group discover a pack of deadly creatures are waiting for them. With their leader Jack having very strange side-effects and with their numbers dropping, the group must delve even further into the cave, battle the creatures and hope for an exit.
Thirty years ago, in the Carpathians Mountains of Romania, a group of explorers blows an entrance to a cave hidden under a church, but the explosion causes a landslide and they become trapped inside. In the present days, the expedition leaded by Dr. Nicolai and his assistant, Dr. Kathryn are exploring the place and they find the access through an underwater river, requesting the experienced cave divers team leaded by Jack. Dr. Nicolai discovers that, in accordance with the local legend, the church was built to seal the cave as a display of God's protective power, and that Templar Knights entered the cave to fight winged demons. When the group reaches a cave though a tunnel one mile below and three miles in, a creature attacks one of the members and his breathing apparatus explodes, collapsing the tunnel and trapping the group in the cave. Sooner they realize that they are the rescue team and they have to find an exit to survive from the attack of the monsters.
