Hello,

My girlfriend and I are avid divers from Houston, Texas. I've been diving for eight years and worked for a shop during college. I just got her into it in the last year. We've gone to Fantasy Island in Roatan and will be going to Bonaire at the end of the month.

Welcome. Have a question for you. Since you've been diving for 8 years and are also from Houston.... Have you dove the Flower Gardens? I was reading about them, sounds very interesting.

My wife is nervous about the live aboard and the page discussing the Flower Gardens trip shows and up shot on a school of hammerheads. Wife will not dive with sharks.

Thanks,

Welcome fellow Houstonian, can I carry your bags to Bonaire...please? I promise I won't eat alot and won't take up much room in your bag.

Read through this thread. By the way, the hammerheads only school in the early spring. I've seen one shark and I've been there twice both time in July. Even then that shark I saw was only 3 feet long or so.

Hey welcome to the board... I grew up in Bryan myself. Probably half my family is right up the road from you in Tomball :-)

The Gardens are a great place to dive. I've only seen a few sharks there outside of the winter/spring trips. August, abit more than a week after the full moon, when the coral spawns, is a great time to go.

If she sees a shark, it will likely be a whale shark coming in to feed on the gametes.

Snorkeling with manta rays during the SI's is an added treat.
