Why be embarrassed? Shop online.

I like to surprise her with little "gifts" every now and then. Heck if the stars and planets are lined up right you might even be able to get it modeled by the store staff or a customer before you decide what "style" you like!!!!!:smiley20:

I frequently went to the VS shop in the local mall and bought stuff for my gfs. I've been to a few shops here in Japan, and boy do the girls clear out as soon as I walk in. It's funny! I see no reason to be ashamed or embarassed of my personal life.
I was buying some condoms at a Walgreens way back when (I must have been about 24) and the middle aged woman behind me said: "Ohh, I see what you're buying," so I turned around, put the two different boxes in her face, and said; "Good, then maybe you can tell me, do your prefer the ribbed or the smooth." Who was embarassed then? Not me!

They obviously aren't my size, so what's the problem? If it looked like they could fit, then I'd probably be embarrassed.

I don't embarass easy. I find it's even more amusing when other people are embarassed by what you're buying - like the women giving you funny looks in the VS store, or the more conservative women standing behind you when buying condoms. You want a good laugh, next time you have a box or two in your hand and there's someone behind you 'trying not to look', turn around, look them straight in the eye, and ask them to 'hold this so I can tie my shoe'.

No problem here, I figure I can get her stuff I like her to wear. Besides, I don't get embarrassed easy and at least she knows I try. 20 years married so I must be doing at least one thing right. :smiley36:

I find it amusing to shop with her for these things. I can say, "Hey, I like this". Now, shopping by myself is a challange because in my mind I'm thinking, "These people are thinking I'm a pervert".

The only problem is anything that I buy for her she thinks is too skimpy, too lacy, too sexy, etc. or just not right so she returns it :smiley19:. Also always seem to get the sizes wrong, I buy the bras 1 size too big and the knickers one size too small:smilie39:

The reason they think you're a pervert is because you're taking things off the rack and sniffing them. Don't do that, and you'll be fine.

What about sniffing things other people take off the rack? Is that ok?

Wow... Being from White Pine, I never would have guessed that Dandridge would have an online lingerie store. ;)

Just saw this thread... My view on it is this: the ladies working there have seen every single husband come in embarrassed. I like to go in rather confident, and get a little help from that point of view. I know what I like, I know what she hates, now what can I do to compromise? The staff is great for that question. :)

who's the model??? :)

to the original topic though - I don't shop for those things cause she is very good at it herself... I definitely don't need to add to the hundreds of pieces she already has... However, if I felt so inclined, it wouldn't bother me at all - she used to work at Fredericks of Hollywood anyways, so I'd hang out there every once in a while...

If my wife would wear any of it, I wouldn't mind buying it.

What an opportune time for me to jump in on this thread. Dammit now I've got to go find me another significant other so I can buy her stuff so she can collect it all up until she decides to leave me, then I'll have to go find another......oh never mind.

The only embarrassing part is going around the store trying to find some woman the same shape and size as my wife. The hard part is asking this strange woman that I stalked what size would she wear. Never was good with woman sizes.

After being sent to the store trying to buy tampons, feminine pads and diapers without a size beforehand and having no clue in that aisle, VS is easy.

Silly man, look at one of her sizes in her dresser at home before you go!:smiley36:

I prefer to look in the laundry. Generally its better to use a size from something they are actually wearing than something that may be in the dresser because it no longer fits. There are advantages to being the one who does the wash in the house.

Indeed there are.

I have found that sizes differ from item to item and manufactor. Best to hold up the item you are interested and ask "what size would you wear in this." I have had better luck with this method.

I'd love it if he bought me something from VS...then I'd be wearing exactly what he likes! And I can only imagine how fun it really would be for you guys to go in there shopping...especially this time of year! Go do it for her!

get her a box of sirane wrap :)

I love that idea. She gets to stay warm.(No socks) and I get to see what I want. Just have to be careful that the wrap doesn't get in the way.
Clever and cheap.
